Days 85 and 86
Arugala salad.
Asparagus two nights in a row.
Hot and muggy one day.
Cool and breezy the next.
Pacing myself here, in this space.
Trying to give my busy brain time to rest.
Spending most of my time trying to find time.
Always more to do.
Fighting the resentment that accompanies the endless to-do list.
We have surpassed 2 million cases of COVID-19 in the United States.
More than 7 million worldwide.
The virus is surging globally, particularly in Latin America.
In the United States, professional athletes have resumed practices. My son showed me today a video of a Celtics practice court, which is disinfected top to bottom, including the rims of the basketball hoops, after practice. There are laminated signs on the equipment in the weight rooms. One side says Disinfected. One says Needs Disinfecting. I am grateful for the work that has gone in to keeping people safe. I am wondering if our children will ever return to a “before.”

Dreading another week of work.
Grateful to still be employed.
Always trying to make sense of the dichotomies as they present themselves.
Stay safe, everyone.
